We’re looking for sponsors to help us fund and create new episodes in our award-winning <a href="/animated-lessons">Tech We Can animation series</a> for children. These animated lessons aim to open children’s eyes to the wide variety of tech careers that exist and show them that a future role in technology is within their reach. Each animation explores a different area of technology and features our characters, Katie and Tex, as well as an individual who works in that field from the sponsor organisation. If you’re a young woman working in tech, and would like to inspire the next generation to pursue a career in technology, we’d love to hear from you! Our ‘Young women in tech’ campaign - a collaboration between Tech She Can, <a href="https://workfinder.com/">Workfinder</a>, <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/department-for-digital-culture-media-sport/about">DCMS</a>, <a href="https://www.everywoman.com/">everywoman</a> and <a href="https://wearetechwomen.com/">WeAreTechWomen</a> - features short self-filmed videos of inspiring young women talking about their roles, highlighting the variety of tech careers that exist as well as the many different routes people take into them. You can <a href="/role-models">explore our exsiting role model videos here</a>. The types of roles we're looking to feature include data analyst, data engineer, software developer, systems engineer, DevOps engineer, intelligence analyst, app developer, data scientist, VR or metaverse designer, privacy analyst, security architect, Natural Language Processing (NLP) engineer, Blockchain developer, UX designer, or Cloud engineer. Celebrating International Women's Day with children

With <a href="https://www.internationalwomensday.com/">International Women's Day 2022</a> approaching on 8 March, we’ve put together two short videos to help explain the importance of this day to children. Our Head of Early Education, Becky Patel, highlights what International Women’s Day is all about and why it’s important for both boys and girls. Becky also explains some of the inequalities that exist between women and men - and shares some of things children can do to help make the world a fairer place.Whether you’re a teacher, parent, or guardian, we hope you find these videos useful. You may be able to use them as part of a school assembly next week, or simply to spark a valuable and interesting conversation with your own children.&nbsp; There are two videos available - one for primary school children and the other for secondary school children.

Our latest Tech We Can lesson, aimed at inspiring kids aged 8 - 14 to consider a career in technology, explores how tech is helping to protect our planet and highlights some of the inspirational people working in this area.

Tech for Planet: new Tech We Can lesson for kids

Since the COP26 climate summit earlier this month, topics such as sustainable living and protecting the future of our planet have dominated the news agenda, as well as entering our everyday conversations, including those taking place in schools and among young people. Today, we’re delighted to announce the release of our latest free on-demand Tech We Can lesson, ‘Tech for the Planet’. Aimed at children aged 8-14, this lesson aims to show some of the innovative ways in which technologists around the world are using technology to protect our air, reduce waste, help clean the oceans and preserve our wildlife. It also highlights some of the role models working in these areas which we hope will inspire young viewers to consider a future career in technology. Many thanks to Lucinda Jones from Unilever and Mikya Rozner from Tesco for featuring in this lesson and sharing what their roles involve. You can watch the lesson, taught by Becky Patel and Katie King in our new studio, below.
